Congratulations from the President of VMU SR on the occasion of September 1st

Dear Rector, Deans, Lecturers, Guests and of course colleagues and friends of students!
Here is the dawn of September 1st, when each of us opens a new page in the book of life. While this year’s Science and Knowledge Festival isn’t what we’re used to, it’s still endlessly fun to see you gathered to commemorate it. This celebration symbolizes a new stage that we are entering with a little fear, uncertainty, but full of enthusiasm, new goals and ideas.
As we embark on this new journey, which will be much different this year, I want to hope and wish that despite the rampant virus, we will be able to create an environment where we can all feel part of the VMU academic community, whether in the auditoriums or through distance learning.
However, I don’t want to talk only about negative things. I would like to wish you to be curious, not afraid to make mistakes, because this period is meant to discover your path, your goals. Don’t be afraid to take on new challenges that will gradually shape your worldview, perception, and thinking.
So, colleagues, friends, it is time to dive into the new school year, during which I believe we will create endless memories. But as you move forward, don’t forget to keep looking over your shoulders and see how much you’ve grown, how much you’ve experienced together, how much you’ve accomplished, and with great jealousy looking back on your new path, march toward your dreams.
Happy Science and Knowledge Day!
