VMU Student Parliament has been elected

Students of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) elected the Student Parliament. 92 candidates took part in the elections, 65 of whom will become student representatives in parliament. 

This year, the turnout of participation in voting was almost 12%, with 939 students casting their ballots. “We are glad that this year we have received three times more student activity than last year,” says Greta Šmaižytė, Chairman of the Board of VMU SR. “The number of candidates was higher, especially for foreign students.”

The representatives of the Faculty of Humanities were elected after re-elections, and the representatives of the Academy of Education – after counting the voting results of Profession Pedagogy students.

Vytautas Magnus University Student Parliament is the highest governing body of the Student Representatives (SR). Its members adopt, supplement and amend the statutes, regulations and procedural rules of VMU SR. Also, members of the parliament elect and remove the President of VMU SR by secret ballot, consider and approve the activity and financial reports of VMU SR . Members of the Student Parliament are responsible for solving VMU students’ problems and answering questions.
