Two candidates will run for the position of President of VMU Student Representative Council
On March 12th, the report-election conference of the Student Representative Council of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU SC) will take place, during which the VMU Student Parliament will elect a new President of VMU SC. The desire to take this position was expressed by two candidates – Žygimantas Menčenkovas, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Humanities, and Ieva Vengrovskaja, a bachelor studying at the same faculty.
In his guidelines, Ž. Menčenkovas singled out three parts: towards better studies, democratic and independent student self-government, and students in national politics. “There is still a lot to be done. We must strive for the best possible material conditions for students. In this way, we will create a favorable environment for them to study and engage in extracurricular activities,” the candidate states in his motivational letter.

I. Vengrovskaja in her guidelines envisaged six areas of activity: improving the quality of studies, student representatives, strengthening the student microclimate, reliable and open organization, representation at the national and international level, and ensuring the financial stability of the organization. “Applying for this position, I understand that it is impossible to drastically improve the quality of studies or social dimension in one year, but I want to listen to students’ expectations and achieve a more favorable study environment for each student, at least with small changes,” the candidate says in her motivational letter.
