Meetings of VMU SR committees are starting
September 12th The Student Representatives of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU SR) organized a committee fair, where students could interact with members of the organization, learn more about VMU SR committees and their activities and register.
Committee meetings will begin on Monday and welcome anyone who wants to contribute to VMU SR.
Monday 5 p.m. – Meeting of the Committee on Projects and International Relations. This committee works actively with Lithuanian and foreign foundations and seeks to attract funding for various SR activities. The committee is coordinated by Laurynas Samajauskas.
Monday 6 p.m. – Meeting of the Culture Committee. The Committee is committed to providing quality, fun and meaningful leisure for VMU students. In addition to traditional events such as V2, Spring Festival or the Subalansuotas fuksas Camp, the committee also contributes to academic and social actions. Coordinator of the Committee – Monika Terzytė.
Tuesday 5 p.m. – Meeting of the Social Affairs Committee. The aim of the committee is to ensure the safety of students, emotional well-being, development of the social dimension, and to create a cozy and dynamic social environment. Committee members also care about the quality of dormitory services, student financial support, favorable study conditions at the university and infrastructure based on universal design principles and tailored to all student needs. The committee is coordinated by Ieva Vengrovskaja.
Tuesday 6 p.m. – Meeting of the Public Relations Committee. The function of this committee is to disseminate information about VMU SR activities, respond to students’ questions and messages, administer VMU SR accounts on social networks, write press releases and take care of the organization’s image. In addition, there is an editorial board of Studis magazine (editor-in-chief Viktorija Rekstytė, editorial board meetings on Tuesday 7 p.m.). Committee coordinator – Gabrielė Šturmaitė.
Wednesday 5 p.m. – Meeting of the Marketing and Advertising Committee. This Committee is responsible for the support received by the Representation and seeks financial resources for the implementation of events and projects. The members of the committee are actively looking for partners who would provide better conditions for VMU students in various institutions and make new acquaintances with representatives of different companies. Coordinator of the Committee – Rytis Sidarevičius.
Wednesday 6 p.m. – Meeting of the Academic Affairs Committee. This committee is concerned with better study quality and academically fair study organization. This committee is always ready to give you all the answers you need to answer your academic questions and take care of the students as much as they do! The committee is coordinated by Kristina Balčiūnaitė and Gintarė Jurelytė.
Wednesday 7 p.m. – General meeting of VMU SR. The meeting is chaired by VMU SR President Paulius Vaitiekus, who introduces the members to the most relevant information and news. During the general meeting, various topics are discussed and the committees report on the work done during the week.
Lina Stumbrytė, who is in charge of the organization’s human resources section, says that starting as a representative can be confusing, but attending committee meetings will help you get to know the organization and discover activities that you like.
