New members are welcome at VMU SR committee meetings
The meetings of the committees of Vytautas Magnus University Student Representatives (VMU SR) will start next week, where new members of the organization are also welcome.
VMU SR committees operate in certain areas. Each week, committee members meet to discuss work, distribute tasks and discuss current issues.
“The representatives are a place where you can gain a lot of different experience during your study year, sometimes even in unexpected areas. That is why I highly recommend testing yourself in more than one committee, thus expanding my capabilities, ”says Lina Stumbrytė, who is responsible for the organization’s human resources.
Meeting schedule:
Monday 17:00 – Meeting of the Marketing and Advertising Committee. The Committee is responsible for the support received by the Representatives and seeks financial resources for the implementation of events and projects. The members of the committee are actively looking for partners who would provide better conditions for VMU students in various institutions and make new acquaintances with representatives of various companies. The coordinator of the committee is Rytis Sidarevičius.
Monday 18:00 – Culture Committee meeting. The committee takes care of high-quality, fun and meaningful leisure time for Vytautas Magnus University students. In addition to traditional events such as V2, the Spring Festival or the Subalansuotas Fuksas Camp, the committee also contributes to the implementation of academic and social actions. The coordinator of the committee is Monika Terzytė.
Tuesday 17:00 – Meeting of the Social Affairs Committee. The aim of the committee is to ensure students’ safety, emotional well-being, development of the social dimension, and to create a cozy and dynamic social environment. The members of the committee also take care of the quality of dormitory services, students financial support, favorable study conditions at the university and infrastructure based on the principles of universal design and adapted to all students’ needs. The committee is coordinated by Ieva Vengrovskaya.
Tuesday 18:00 – Public Relations Committee meeting. The function of the committee is to disseminate information about the activities of VMU SR, answer student questions and messages, administer VMU SR accounts on social networks, write press releases and take care of the image of the organization. In addition, the committee has an editorial office of the magazine Studis (editor-in-chief Germantė Lovčikaitė, editorial meetings take place on Tuesday at 18:30). The coordinator of the committee is Gabrielė Šturmaitė.
Wednesday 17:00 – Meeting of the Academic Affairs Committee. This committee takes care of the better quality of studies and academically fair organization of studies. This committee is always ready to provide all the answers to the academic questions of concern and to take care of the same as the students themselves! The committee is coordinated by Gintarė Jurelytė.
Wednesday 18:00 – Meeting of the Committee of Projects and International Relations. This committee actively works with Lithuanian and foreign funds and seeks to attract funding for various SR activities. Committee members are in constant contact and form partnerships with foreign organizations. The expanding network of partners allows university members to go on various youth exchanges and represent their country and the university. The committee is coordinated by Joana Gasiulytė.
Wednesday 19:00 – General meeting of VMU SR. This meeting is chaired by Paulius Vaitiekus, President of VMU SR, who introduces the most relevant information and news to the members of the representative office. Various topics are discussed during the general meeting, and the committees talk about the work done during the week.
