Freshmen will gather in a traditional camp: a number of innovations await

Vytautas Magnus University Student Representatives (VMU SR) is organizing a freshmen camp “Subalansuotas Fuksas 2020” on September 19th-20th. This year, the event is exceptional not only for the renewed team games, but also for the theme – freshmen will become participants of the reality show “Survival”.

Opportunity to meet students from other faculties

Freshmen will be divided into different groups, so they will be able to meet different people – not only their own group members, but also students from other faculties and studying in senior courses. The activities of the camp will help you get used to the new university environment and introduce you to the challenges ahead during your studies. “Freshmen will receive introductory and team-building games, meetings with university alumni and, of course, the opportunity to empathize with the role of participants in the reality show Survival,” says Monika Terzytė, one of the camp organizers.

The camp is not a baptism

The organizers of the camp promise that there will be no bullying at the event: “We want to emphasize that at the camp – we do not organize christening, nightmarish or disgusting challenges for freshmen, but promise that this weekend will be one of the most memorable during the whole study year,” says Terzytė. Comfortable living conditions have been created She also stresses that there is no need to worry about living conditions: “Camp participants will be provided with accommodation, so the tent can be left at home. Each cottage has neat toilets and washrooms. Meals are also included in the entry fee, but snacks can be picked up according to your needs. Of course, a list of essential items will be emailed to participants by post.”

Given the current situation with regard to the COVID-19 virus, the camp will meet all the necessary requirements. During the program, protective masks will be worn, hands and surfaces will be constantly disinfected. Also, classes and activities will be conducted in smaller groups within a safe physical distance.

The registration form can be completed by September 8th (included). Selected participants will be contacted in person by September 11th via the phone number provided in the form. The registration form can be found here.
